John made his professional Shakespearean debut playing (in repertory with ANYTHING GOES) the role of Dumaine in Shakespeare's LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST, also under the direction of Mr. Nunn.
These two productions were Trevor Nunn's last as Artistic Director at The National.
