Entry 42 - Disneyland by Salina Conlan
My initial plan was to take a picture of the flyer in front of the Disneyland castle. However, I found a lot of really awesome photo spots in Disney's California Adventure that were a lot more fitting for the competition. The other flyer got tacked up on the main "free speech" bulletin board at my school, Orange Coast College, where it can be gawked at an baffled over by the many film and theater students that attend there. Hope you like the pictures!
The Hyperion theater is part of a facade at the back of the Hollywood section of the park and it leads into the specialty seating of the Aladdin stage show that they run about 4 times a day.
In honor of an upcoming Torchwood episode (or so the rumors go) I took one of the Hyperion pictures in black and white because I thought it looked really classy and romantic that way.
The picture of Aladdin shaking hands with the magic carpet is a reprint of a preliminary scene sketch from the animated feature that is in the window of Off the Page, an interactive animation attraction.
The Doctor's Only sign was located by the restrooms somewhere to the far left of the Hyperion and when I saw that particular sign among the others I had to get a picture. Every sign on that wall was a prop used in a movie. Pretty fitting for Mr. Barrowman, I'd say!
Entry 41 - Mars Dela Pena
Several years ago, an earthquake in southern California caused a statue of David (a replica of Michelangelo's masterpiece) to topple over and break into several pieces. Rather than dispose of the broken statue, these pieces were artfully displayed over a patch of grass on the campus of California State University: Fullerton. I took pictures of the flyer on various sections of the statue.
Here be feet
Funny, this a lot like how I look on a typical hot afternoon. Except for the dirt smudges, the extremely white color, and the immobile expression while gazing fixedly at a poster containing John Barrowman. Wait, scratch that last one.
David wouldn’t let go, even after he was sawed in half at the torso.
And here’s a close-up
During John Barrowman’s appearance on ‘Never Mind the Buzzcocks’, it was mentioned that, in sci-fi shows, nosebleeds are often associated with psychic power. John agreed, adding: “And when you fart, it’s a fax.”
An unobstructed view, in case anybody wanted to admire David’s sculpted derriere.
Entry 40 - Chicago by Elizabeth Kus
The flyer wanted to go by Joliet, see the old stomping grounds...
Then onto the Windy City. Our first stop was to see the "Bean" in Millenium Park
We wandered over to the Hancock Building and had dinner, at the Cheesecake Factory.
Then we headed over to Navy Pier. Since NP is such a touristy place... it was a good place to part ways with "John"... we found a nice spot and after my camera battery died we taped him up and ran away...
